Hey, I’m Meg.
As the owner of Queer & Trans Specialist, I help workplaces and providers create affirming environments for LGBTQIA+ staff and clients alike.
The QTS approach
A tsunami of anti-LGBTQIA+ legislative efforts is currently sweeping across the United States. As these laws proliferate, dangerous and cavalier language has taken hold in public forums. In every sector of society from healthcare to public companies, we have an obligation to make spaces safe(r) and inclusive for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
With QTS you’ll work alongside and be guided by a clinician educator who combines both professional training and lived experience to ensure best practices when working with queer and trans community members, clients, and colleagues. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and tailored to meet you where you are while supporting your growth in knowledge and skills.
Support for clinicians
Providing high-quality, skilled behavioral health care for the LGBTQIA+ community is essential for today’s clinician. With QTS you have access to an experienced trainer, clinical supervisor, and academic on the cutting edge of LGBTQIA+ care to guide you.
Services
Support for medical professionals
Improve your practice by increasing competency with current medical guidelines, unearthing implicit bias, and evaluating language and care delivery for potential inadvertent harm.
Health system design and development
Explore ways in which your system upholds the gender binary and reinforces negative outcomes. Working through a systems lens and utilizing patient journey mapping, qualitative and quantitative research, and best practices, QTS will help improve affirmation and care at every step of a patient’s journey.
Corporate projects and engagements
Understanding and supporting LGBTQIA+ employees while fostering a culture of respect and non-discrimination can lead to greater rates of job satisfaction and promote open communication among employees.
What clients are saying
“Meg is an excellent trainer! We had a group of multidisciplinary clinicians and Meg was able to meet the needs of both new and seasoned clinicians. Their deep understanding of queer and trans issues, as well as their ability to engage with diverse audiences made their training incredibly impactful. Meg provided practical tools and strategies to increase clinicians’ competencies and comfort in writing support letters for gender affirming healthcare. I highly recommend Meg to anyone looking to advance their practice and better serve the LGBTQIA+ community.”
